Job Summary:

The Pearl Burdwan Hotel & Banquet is looking for a talented and experienced

Indian Chef

to lead the preparation of authentic Indian cuisine for our restaurant, banquet functions, and room service. The ideal candidate should have deep knowledge of traditional and regional Indian dishes and be able to deliver exceptional taste and consistency that reflects the culinary heritage of India.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and cook a wide range of Indian dishes including North Indian, South Indian, Mughlai, Tandoori, and regional specialties. Ensure high quality and presentation of all food items served to guests. Develop menus for a la carte, buffet, banquet events, and special occasions. Operate tandoor ovens and maintain correct cooking techniques for kebabs, breads, and grilled items. Supervise and train junior kitchen staff in Indian cooking methods and recipes. Maintain kitchen hygiene and comply with all food safety and sanitation standards (HACCP compliance). Control food cost, reduce wastage, and manage kitchen inventory efficiently. Collaborate with other chefs and departments to ensure smooth kitchen operations during peak hours and events. Innovate new Indian fusion dishes while preserving the authenticity of traditional flavors.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Minimum 3-5 years of experience as an Indian Chef in a reputed hotel or restaurant. Proficiency in preparing both vegetarian and non-vegetarian Indian cuisine. Diploma/degree in culinary arts or hotel management is preferred. Expertise in tandoor operation and regional Indian food styles. Good leadership skills and the ability to train and motivate team members. Knowledge of food safety norms and kitchen operations. Strong time management and organizational skills.
