Responsible for ensuring smooth room orientation for patients and attendants during admission, stay, and discharge.
Assists clinicians in the treatment of mothers and neonates.
Obtains the patient's medical history and communicates it to the consulting physician.
Reviews the doctor's notes and drug chart and takes necessary action accordingly.
Ensures all investigations are carried out as advised by the doctor, and that reports are made available on time for the doctor's review and further instructions.
Prepares nursing care plans and delivers effective bedside nursing care.
Ensures adherence to the clinical care plan; closely monitors for any adverse reactions and immediately alerts the clinician and Nursing Supervisor (NS) in case of any concerns.
Handles emergencies competently and calmly; provides timely guidance and decisions.
Advises and counsels patients on preventing illnesses related to childbirth, educates on necessary precautions, and provides reassurance and confidence.
Ensures the NS is informed immediately of any incidents.
Ensures medication safety and adheres to all patient safety protocols.
Upholds patient rights and maintains the confidentiality of medical and personal information; prevents any breach by avoiding discussion of identifiable patient details in non-secure areas.
Implements effective infection control practices.
Adheres to NABH and Nursing Excellence standards.
Competently operates all patient care equipment; ensures team members are trained in its usage and that equipment is functional and readily available.
Maintains records, reports, and registers as per organizational standards.
Accurately captures data, ensures documentation is complete and correct, monitors Nursing Quality Indicators, and reports accurately.
Responsible for inventory management and cost control; prevents misuse and wastage of resources.
Coordinates and works closely with LDR, OT, NICU, Pharmacy, and Lab departments.
Collaborates with the Billing team regarding admissions, discharges, and billing activities.
Works closely with the Clinical Services team to ensure efficient patient care.
Maintains cordial interpersonal relationships within the team and across departments.
