1. Job Summary
The Emergency Department Incharge is responsible for the overall management, coordination, and smooth functioning of the Emergency Department. The role ensures timely, safe, and high-quality emergency care, efficient team management, and adherence to hospital policies and emergency protocols.

2. Key Responsibilities
A. Clinical Responsibilities
Supervise and ensure rapid assessment, triage, and stabilization of all emergency patients.
Ensure adherence to ACLS, BLS, trauma protocols, triage guidelines, and infection control policies.
Monitor critically ill patients and assist the team in emergency procedures when required.
Coordinate patient transfer to ICU, OT, or wards with proper communication and documentation.
Ensure availability and readiness of emergency equipment (defibrillator, ventilator, crash cart).

B. Administrative Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day operations of casualty/emergency department.
Prepare duty rosters, manage staff allocation, and ensure adequate staffing during peak hours.
Maintain stock of emergency medicines, consumables, and life-saving equipment.
Ensure timely maintenance of equipment and raise service requests when required.
Maintain accurate incident reports, MLC documentation, and handover reports.

C. Staff Management & Training
Supervise nursing staff, paramedics, and support staff.
Conduct regular training sessions on BLS, ACLS, triage, disaster management, and emergency protocols.
Monitor staff performance, maintain discipline, and ensure adherence to hospital standards.
Guide new staff and ensure proper orientation for emergency care.

D. Quality & Safety
Implement and monitor NABH/JCI standards in the Emergency Department.
Ensure patient safety, confidentiality, and zero-error medication practices.
Conduct audits (crash cart, medication, equipment, infection control).
Review incident reports and take corrective action.

E. Communication & Coordination
Coordinate with doctors, lab, radiology, ICU, OT, pharmacy, and ambulance services for fast patient management.
Communicate effectively with patient relatives, providing updates in a calm and empathetic manner.
Liaise with police for MLC cases, documentation, and legal procedures.

3. Required Qualifications
B.Sc Nursing / Post-Basic B.Sc Nursing / M.Sc Nursing preferred.
Valid nursing registration.
Minimum 10 years of emergency/critical care experience, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory role.
BLS/ACLS certification mandatory or must be completed within probation.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹30,418.30 - ₹40,775.98 per month
