Incharge of OSP is responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with suppliers to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality materials or components. This role is crucial in managing the supply chain and ensuring that vendors meet the specified standards and requirements.
- Supplier Identification and Evaluation:
- Identify potential suppliers for materials or components.
- Evaluate and assess potential suppliers based on criteria such as quality, capacity, cost, and reliability.
- Supplier Audits and Qualification:
- Conduct supplier audits to assess their capabilities, facilities, and quality management systems.
- Qualify suppliers based on industry standards and company-specific requirements.
- Contract Negotiation:
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers, including terms, pricing, and delivery schedules.
- Ensure that contracts are favorable to the company while maintaining a mutually beneficial relationship with the supplier.
- Quality Assurance:
- Collaborate with suppliers to establish and maintain quality standards for materials or components.
- Monitor and evaluate supplier performance in terms of quality and consistency.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Work with suppliers to implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identify areas for improvement in supplier processes, cost-effectiveness, and overall efficiency.
- Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams:
- Coordinate with various departments, including production, logistics, and quality control, to ensure seamless collaboration with suppliers.
- Address and resolve issues related to material shortages, quality concerns, or delivery delays.
- Cost Management:
- Analyze costs associated with the supply chain and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
- Work with suppliers to negotiate favorable pricing and cost structures.
