Role Description- Import/Export Manager
:
Manage end-to-end import and export operations for road construction materials, ensuring compliance, timely shipments, and cost-effective logistics.
Only candidates currently based in Guwahati will be considered.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Handle end-to-end Export & Import operations including documentation, bank coordination, and regulatory compliance.
Perform rate checks for Proforma Invoices and Commercial Invoices and execute deal booking with banks.
Raise payments on banking portals, execute FOREX payments, and follow up with banks until transactions are completed.
Prepare, verify, and submit payment-related documents, including monthly BOE submissions and ECGC declarations.
Prepare complete FOB export documentation such as SO, CI, PI, COO, COA, and other shipment-related documents.
Manage Letter of Credit (LC) operations for Bangladesh, Nepal, and Bhutan including draft LC review, amendment suggestions, advisory follow-ups, and final confirmation with banks.
Prepare LC-compliant document sets, internally verify the final set, and submit documents to banks for negotiation/collection.
Follow up with banks through audit, dispatch, courier issuance, tracking, and confirmation of delivery with CRM/customers.
Submit documents for discounting upon receipt of SWIFT messages.
Prepare and manage import documentation, BOE sets, and follow up with banks for pending import BOEs.
Coordinate with banks (Axis, HDFC, ICICI) for pending export bills, IRMs, and reconciliation of export proceeds.
Organize export bills with corresponding bank statements and adjust received payments against outstanding invoices.
Prepare and submit export document sets to banks and customs authorities for shipments to Bangladesh, Nepal, and Bhutan.
Coordinate with transporters for original LR copies and manually prepare LR documents for LC shipments.
Apply to Chamber of Commerce for LC-related documentation and issue insurance policies for LC shipments.
Ensure compliance with RBI, FEMA, DGFT, customs, and banking regulations at all stages of export-import transactions.
Handle any additional banking, trade finance, or EXIM documentation work as required by the organization.
Eligibility/Qualifications:
Graduate in Commerce / International Business / Logistics
4-8 years' experience
in import-export operations (manufacturing/infrastructure preferred)
Strong knowledge of EXIM documentation, customs procedures, HS codes, INCOTERMS
Proficient in MS Excel / ERP systems
