Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain relationships with global suppliers.
Negotiate pricing, Incoterms, payment terms, and delivery timelines.
Issue and manage purchase orders and contracts.
Coordinate with freight forwarders and customs agents.
Manage import documentation (LCs, Invoices, B/L, CoO, Packing List, etc.).
Work with internal departments (Finance, Production, Warehouse) to manage material flow.
Track shipments and ensure timely delivery.
Ensure compliance with customs laws and DGFT policies.
Evaluate procurement performance through cost and lead time analysis.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field.
MBA/PGDM preferred but not mandatory.
Experience
2-5 years in import purchasing or international procurement.
Hands-on experience with freight forwarding and customs clearance.
Skills Required
Strong negotiation and communication skills.
Solid understanding of
Incoterms, LC procedures
, and international trade documentation.
Proficient in
ERP systems
(SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office.
Time management and problem-solving abilities.
Knowledge of
import regulations
and documentation standards.
