Job Title: Import/Export Operations Intern

Role Overview

As an Import/Export Intern, you will gain firsthand experience in the complexities of moving goods across international borders. You will support our logistics team in coordinating shipments, managing documentation, and ensuring compliance with global trade regulations. This is an excellent opportunity for a student or recent graduate looking to build a career in global supply chain management.

Key Responsibilities

Documentation Management: Assist in preparing and auditing essential trade documents, including Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, Bills of Lading, and Certificates of Origin.

Shipment Tracking:Monitor the status of inbound and outbound international shipments, providing real-time updates to internal stakeholders and customers.

Compliance Support: Help verify Harmonized System (HS) codes for products and ensure all shipments adhere to customs regulations and trade agreements.

Communication: Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and carriers to ensure timely delivery and resolve minor transit delays.

Data Entry: Maintain and update the internal ERP or logistics management system with accurate shipping data and costs.

Research:Assist the team in researching new market entry requirements or updates to international trade laws (e.g., Incoterms 2020).

Qualifications & Skills



Education:Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in International Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.

Detail-Oriented: High level of accuracy is critical when dealing with legal shipping documents.

Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with global partners.

Tech-Savvy: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data sorting, basic formulas) and an ability to learn logistics software quickly.

Problem Solver: A proactive attitude toward identifying and resolving logistical bottlenecks.

What You Will Learn

The end-to-end lifecycle of an international shipment.

Understanding of Customs Clearanceprocesses and tariff classifications.
