Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Imperva Database Activity Monitoring (DAM) Resident Engineer (L3) to provide on-site technical support, advanced troubleshooting, configuration, optimization, and operational management of Imperva's database security solutions.
The role requires deep technical expertise in Imperva SecureSphere / DAM, strong database security knowledge, and hands-on experience in enterprise deployments.
As an L3 Resident Engineer, you will serve as the primary technical advisor for database security posture, ensuring smooth operations, compliance alignment, and proactive risk mitigation.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Operations & Support
Manage, maintain, and optimize Imperva DAM / SecureSphere environments (Gateways, Agents, MX Management Server).
Perform advanced troubleshooting of database monitoring, policy violations, agent connectivity, and performance issues.
Analyze database activity logs to identify anomalous behavior, policy violations, and potential data breaches.
Deploy and upgrade Imperva components and apply patches in production/non-production environments.
Review and fine-tune security policies, correlation rules, and audit filters based on business requirements.
Security & Compliance
Ensure compliance reporting and audit readiness for standards like PCI DSS, GDPR, HIPAA, SOX, etc.
Conduct vulnerability assessments and provide remediation recommendations.
Work with InfoSec and DBA teams to strengthen database access controls and security posture.
Performance & Optimization
Monitor system health, scalability, and tuning of gateways and agents.
Implement capacity planning, HA (High Availability), and failover strategies.
Conduct periodic policy reviews to reduce false positives and improve detection accuracy.
Incident Response & Root Cause Analysis
Act as L3 escalation point for Imperva DAM issues.
Provide RCA (Root Cause Analysis) and corrective action plans for critical incidents.
Assist SOC and SIEM teams with event correlation and threat detection integration.
Documentation & Knowledge Transfer
Create and maintain SOPs, design documents, and operational runbooks.
Conduct knowledge transfer and mentoring for L1/L2 engineers and customer teams.
Support change management and release planning activities.
Required Technical Skills
Expertise in Imperva SecureSphere / DAM: MX Management Server, Gateways, Agents, Data Security Fabric.
Strong understanding of database technologies: Oracle, MSSQL, MySQL, DB2, PostgreSQL.
Knowledge of database auditing concepts, privileged access monitoring, and data exfiltration detection.
Experience in policy creation, audit filters, audit trails, and blocking mechanisms.
Hands-on experience with Linux, Windows Server, and networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, SSL, firewalls).
Familiarity with integration tools like SIEM (Splunk, QRadar, ArcSight), ServiceNow, and AD/LDAP.
Scripting experience (Bash, Python, or SQL) is a plus.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
Imperva Certified Technical Specialist (ICTS) or Imperva Certified Implementation Engineer (ICIE) preferred.
Additional certifications (CISSP, CEH, or database certifications) are advantageous.

Reports to: Security Operations / Customer's Information Security Manager

Pay: ₹100,000.00 - ₹150,000.00 per month
