Job Purpose

To create accurate, level-appropriate and high-quality illustrations for learning and assessment materials, while adhering to established brand guidelines and production timelines

Principal Accountabilities:

Create original illustrations in line with defined visual styles, briefs and brand guidelines Use digital tools such as Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop to develop and refine high-quality artwork efficiently Interpret and translate visual requirements accurately for educational contexts Maintain high standards of quality and consistency across all output Contribute to improvements in illustration workflows and production processes Ensure compliance with relevant legislative, copyright and quality standards

Skills and Requirement:

Strong illustration skills, demonstrated through a portfolio of original work Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite Attention to detail and a quality-focused approach Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines Strong organisational and time-management skills Effective communication and collaboration skills

Preferred:

Experience working within established brand or visual style frameworks Prior experience illustrating for educational content Familiarity with accessibility considerations in educational visuals Experience collaborating with editors, designers or content developers in a production environment

Knowledge & Experience

Demonstrable experience as an illustrator, preferably within educational publishing or a structured production environment Strong understanding of illustration fundamentals Experience interpreting briefs and adapting illustration style to meet predefined guidelines Understanding of visual consistency, accessibility and clarity for learning materials
