Knowledge Consultant - Innovations for Change

The Space of Work :

You will work to solve knowledge challenges at scale across diverse domains - businesses, government institutions, education, and communities.

Some of the challenges you will be working on :

- Improving citizen-centricity levels of our government services (police, railways, postal services)

- Improving the capacity to respond in SMEs to changing market and customer demands

- Scaling the quality of customer engagement in large-distribution networks

- Improving the quality of education in schools by empowering teachers to become agents of change in their communities

The Role :

Knowledge Consulting team works on diagnosing challenges deeply, designing & building knowledge solutions, prototyping it and deploying them on the ground to create impact at scale.

Your role involves 5 key spaces :

1. Research

- Conduct ethnography studies (FGDs / interviews) with stakeholders in the client system to identify the critical challenges faced on the ground - both online and through field visits to different locations in the country.

- Conduct outcome-oriented secondary research (studying industry reports, etc.)

- Design and deploy survey and dipstick tools to capture meaningful data from the ground

- Conduct solution research to map out key context inputs needed to design the solution

- Engage with research partners across the country to collect data at scale

2. Analysis & Knowledge Modeling

- Analyze quantitative data from surveys / research tools to derive meaningful insights that can enable users and stakeholders precisely

- Build a comprehensive understanding of the context - business model, operating model, institutional structure, types of customers, etc.

- Perceive the deeper challenges faced by individuals & the collective towards achieving the desired intervention / business outcome.

- Unearth the tacit knowledge of the community to design multiple solution models for people to solve challenges

3. Building Knowledge Products

- Codify research findings to build formal reports that can be leveraged for action

- Build knowledge products & units (integrating multiple forms of media) focused on communicating knowledge effectively to users

4. Knowledge Solution Ownership

- Design knowledge solution specifications along with the technology team

- Work with stakeholders to ensure successful build of the solution within the project deadlines

- Pilot the solution on the ground with users and iterate the product with the team

- Ensure successful & consistent usage of the solution along with the deployment team

5. Impact Assessment

- Work with the impact team to measure the impact of the knowledge solution on intervention / business outcomes

Qualifications, Experience and Pre-Requisites required :

1. Minimum Education Criteria : Bachelor's degree with 2 years work experience or Master's / PhD

3. Pre-Requisites : Good understanding of business and institutional challenges, Ability to build knowledge products and ability to communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders

Expectations :

- Full-time, based in Mumbai, Work from office

- Working as part of a flat team - no hierarchy, irrespective of experience

- Open to travel as part of the project
