Key Responsibilities
o Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and review financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, cash flow) to ensure accuracy and compliance with IFRS. o IFRS Compliance: Ensure adherence to all IFRS standards, implement new updates, and provide technical guidance to the finance team on IFRS-related issues. o Regulatory & Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits, respond to audit queries, and ensure compliance with regulatory and reporting requirements. o Process Improvement: Develop, implement, and maintain financial reporting systems, controls, and procedures. Monitor and improve existing financial reporting processes. o Transactional & Reconciliation: Prepare daily/monthly entries, reconcile accounts, and ensure balance sheets are accurate. o Banking Sector Specifics: Handle financial reporting for specific banking activities such as global markets, financing activities, and derivatives (e.g., MTM bookings). o Stakeholder Communication: Prepare and present financial reports to senior management and other stakeholders.
Qualifications
o Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required. o Professional Certification: A professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA) is strongly preferred. o Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting or financial reporting, with prior experience in a similar role within the banking sector being a plus. o Technical Skills: Extensive knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting standards. Proficiency with relevant accounting software and Microsoft Excel is expected. o Soft Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
