Roles and Responsibilities With funding from the Investor Education and Protection Fund Authority (IEPFA), NCAER has set-up a research programme with a special focus on the financial sector and investor climate, education and protection, and invites applications for the position of a Professor in this area. The selected faculty member will lead and undertake research on the behaviour of Indian investors, their education on financial and investment products, on policies to protect investors, and on the effectiveness of investor education and protection programmes in India. The main terms of reference would include:
To undertake research on the behaviour of Indian investors, their education on financial and investment products, on policies to protect investors, and on the effectiveness of investor education and protection programmes in India.
To undertake research on the legal, regulatory, and procedural issues that weaken investor protection and make market participation more risky than it need be.
Produce research reports to provide policy and implementation inputs to IEPFA, other policymakers, researchers, and analysts, including a flagship State of India Investor Protection Report.
To foster collaboration among economists, lawyers, policy makers, regulators and Courts and Tribunals in the broad areas of law, economics, and justice and in areas dealing with investors and investor education.
To conduct seminars and conferences in the above areas.
To carry out by mutual consent additional work specifically for IEPFA on terms mutually agreed between IEPFA and NCAER.
Duration of Appointment: Initially for three-years, with a provision for renewal. Compensation: A salary that is commensurate with NCAER\xe2\x80\x99s MoU with IEPFA and the experience of the right candidate. Last Date: March 21, 2023. Qualifications, demonstrated experience and skills
PhD in economics and/or advanced professional degrees in law, finance, or business management.
Multidisciplinary background in economics, finance, law, regulation, and governance as a credible, respected, senior practitioner, policymaker, or academic with at least 20 years of experience; deep knowledge of the investor education and protection sector preferable.
Successful demonstrated experience of programme design, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and superlative problem solving, analytical and presentation skills.
Ability to write quickly and communicate with precision, power, and persuasion.
Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work flexibly with large teams and multiple stakeholders, and deeply held core ethical values.
Strong time management, multi-tasking and organisational skills with a keen eye for detail without missing the larger picture and the ability to keep up with tight project schedules and deliverables.
