Job Description

An IELTS Trainer prepares students for the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) exam by designing lesson plans, conducting training sessions, and providing feedback on listening, reading, writing, and speaking modules. Key responsibilities include creating practice tests, monitoring student progress, keeping up with exam trends, and helping students improve their scores to achieve their desired band score. Responsibilities

Lesson Planning

: Design and implement effective lesson plans tailored to IELTS exam requirements for both group and one-on-one sessions.

Training Delivery

: Conduct training sessions covering all four modules: listening, reading, writing, and speaking.

Assessment

: Develop, administer, and grade practice tests to measure student progress.

Feedback

: Provide detailed and constructive feedback to students to help them improve their skills.

Student Guidance

: Motivate and guide students, offering personalized study plans and support, including help with test anxiety and time management.

Curriculum Maintenance

: Stay updated on the latest IELTS exam trends, formats, and scoring criteria.

Record Keeping

: Maintain accurate records of student performance and progress.
Qualifications and skills

English Proficiency

: Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal.

Experience

: Experience in teaching or training is often required, with a preference for specific IELTS preparation experience (e.g., 1-2 years).

Education

: A Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or a related field is often preferred.

Certifications

: Certifications like TEFL/TESOL or a specific IELTS Trainer certification can be an advantage.

Knowledge

: Strong understanding of the IELTS test format and scoring criteria.

Skills

: Excellent communication, patience, and student-handling skills.
Additional duties

Assisting with administrative tasks like student admissions, visa applications, and pre/post-departure services is sometimes required, depending on the employer. Creating supplementary educational materials. Potentially advising students on selecting test dates and centers.
