Conduct thorough head-to-toe physical assessments to identify and address patient needs.
Monitor vital signs, including oxygen levels, respiratory rate, blood pressure, temperature, and pulse rate, and report significant changes to the physician.
Observe patients for signs of sepsis or shock, and initiate prompt interventions.
Manage ventilators and other complex equipment.
Medication Administration and Patient Care:
Administer medications and fluids as ordered by physicians, while also monitoring for adverse effects and interactions.
Provide wound care and manage other patient needs, such as hygiene and positioning.
Manage IV lines, including insertion and maintenance, and central lines.
Collaboration and Communication:
Collaborate with physicians, surgeons, and other healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Provide updates to families on their loved ones' condition and status.
Communicate effectively with patients and families, addressing their concerns and providing emotional support.
Emergency Response:
Respond quickly and effectively to medical emergencies, such as cardiac arrest or respiratory distress.
Assist with advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) procedures.
Documentation and Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes.
Other Duties:
Perform lab draws and assist with other diagnostic tests.
Participate in patient education and discharge planning.
Adhere to all relevant standards, regulations, and policies, including infection control protocols and patient confidentiality.
