Job Description

OVERVIEW: - POSITION: ICU RMO



A. Patient Assessment & Monitoring



Conduct initial assessment of all ICU admissions.

Perform regular rounds and monitor vital parameters, ventilator settings, fluid balance, ABG levels, and overall patient condition.

Identify early signs of deterioration and take immediate corrective action.

B. Medical Management



Implement treatment plans as instructed by the ICU Consultant/Intensivist.

Prescribe medications, IV fluids, inotropes, and manage critical care therapies.

Perform necessary medical procedures such as:

IV cannulation

Arterial line insertion (if trained)

Central line assistance

Foley catheter insertion

Ryle's tube insertion

ABG sampling

Basic airway management

Assist in procedures like intubation, chest tube insertion, and CPR.

C. Emergency & Code Management



Respond promptly to code blue and other ICU emergencies.

Lead resuscitation efforts until the consultant arrives.

Manage shock, respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, and other critical conditions.

D. Communication & Coordination



Communicate patient condition updates to consultants, nurses, and support staff.

Coordinate with radiology, pathology, and other departments for investigations.

Attend consultant rounds and implement orders immediately.

E. Documentation & Reporting



Maintain detailed and accurate patient records, treatment notes, and progress reports.

Ensure proper documentation of all procedures, medications, and interventions.

Handover complete patient information during shift changes.

F. Patient & Family Interaction



Explain patient condition, progress, and treatment plan to relatives within hospital policy.

Handle family queries with professionalism and empathy.

Participate in counseling sessions when required.

G. Safety & Compliance



Follow infection control protocols strictly.

Ensure safe handling of equipment, instruments, and biomedical waste.

Adhere to hospital policies, NABH standards, and ICU guidelines.

Qualifications



BAMS / BHMS / BUMS (as per hospital policy).

Valid medical council registration.

Experience in ICU/critical care preferred (1-3 years).

ACLS/BLS certification is an added advantage.

Required Skills



Strong clinical judgment and emergency management skills.

Excellent communication with nursing and consultant team.

Ability to handle high-pressure situations.

Good documentation and reporting skills.

Compassionate, disciplined, and focused approach to patient care.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ?50,000.00 - ?60,000.00 per month
