JOB DESCRPTIONS (RESPONSIBILITIES):
1. Provide care to patients requiring critical care and are required to be kept in the intensive care unit.
2. Records patients' medical information and vital signs.
3. Monitor the progress of the patient closely and inform the doctor of any changes.
4. Maintain accurate and detailed reports and record.
5. Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patient's responses and conditions.
6. Monitor all aspects of patient care, including diet and physical activity.
7. Monitor, record and report symptoms and changes in patients' conditions.
8. Prepare patients for, and assist with examinations and treatments.
9. Prepare rooms, sterile equipments and supplies and ensure that stock of supplies is maintained.
10. Provide health care and assistance to convalescence.
11. Conduct specified laboratory tests.
12. Administer drugs, medical devices or other forms of, such as physical therapy, inhalation therapy, or related therapeutic procedures.
13. Administer local, inhalation, intravenous injections and other anesthetics.
14. Knowledge of Shock therapy, oxygen administration, nebulization, veni-section, tracheotomy, etc.
15. Knowledge of types of poison, their reactions and symptoms, i.e. drugs, snake bites, rat poison, etc; to help early diagnosis and treatment in absence of doctor.
16. Critical care management.
17. Care of comatose patients.
18. Avoiding bed sores, turning the patient on regular intervals.
19. Knowledge in handling accident and trauma patient, i.e. vehicle accident, fall stabs, etc.
20. Direct and coordinates infection control program, advising and consulting with specified personnel about necessary precautions.
21. Maintaining hygiene and cleanliness in the ICU.
22. Maintaining calm and quiet environment for the patient.
23. Engage in research activities related to nursing.
24. Perform physical examinations, make tentative diagnoses and treat the patient.
25. Strive to improve on service and care continuously.
26. Contribute toward enhancing the hospital image and reputation.
