Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Patient Assessment and Monitoring:

ICU nurses constantly assess patients' conditions, monitor vital signs, and interpret data from various medical equipment like ventilators and monitors.

Medication Administration:

They administer prescribed medications, including intravenous fluids and medications, and manage patient pain and sedation.

Life Support Management:

ICU nurses are trained to operate and manage life support equipment such as ventilators, hemodynamic monitors, and other critical care devices.

Team Collaboration:

They work closely with physicians, other nurses, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement comprehensive care plans.

Emergency Response:

ICU nurses are prepared to respond to emergency situations, including performing CPR and other life-saving measures.

Documentation and Reporting:

They maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting all care, interventions, and observations.

Patient and Family Support:

ICU nurses provide emotional support and education to patients and their families, helping them understand the patient's condition and treatment.

Infection Control:

They adhere to strict infection control protocols to minimize the risk of infection in the ICU.
