Job Description

Patient Care

:

Deliver direct patient care in accordance with the nursing care plan and medical protocols. Monitor and record vital signs, neurological and cardiac status, fluid balance, and other critical parameters. Administer medications, infusions, and other treatments as prescribed. Manage ventilators, central lines, infusion pumps, and other ICU equipment.

Emergency Response

:

Respond promptly to code blue and other medical emergencies. Recognize early signs of deterioration and notify the medical team.

Documentation & Reporting

:

Maintain accurate and detailed patient records (electronic/manual). Report any significant changes in patient condition to physicians and nursing supervisors.

Patient & Family Communication

:

Provide updates to patient families as per hospital protocols. Offer emotional support and education regarding patient condition and care plans.

Team Collaboration

:

Work closely with ICU physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals. Participate in patient rounds, handovers, and shift reports.

Compliance & Hygiene

:

Follow infection control policies and aseptic techniques. Ensure proper handling of biomedical waste and adherence to ICU protocols. Maintain nursing standards as per hospital and regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications & Requirements

:

Education

: GNM / B.Sc. Nursing / Post B.Sc. Nursing from a recognized institution.

Experience

: Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in ICU.

Registration

: Valid Nursing Council Registration.

Certification

: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certified.
