Job Overview:
As an ICA Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of instrumentation, control, and automation systems across various industrial sectors. Your role involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to translate project requirements into innovative and efficient solutions, ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of control systems and automation technologies. Responsibilities:
  • System Design and Engineering:
  • Develop detailed designs, specifications, and schematics for instrumentation, control, and automation systems, including process control systems, SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems, and PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) systems.
  • Select appropriate instrumentation, sensors, actuators, control devices, and automation technologies based on project requirements, industry standards, and best practices.
  • Utilize software tools such as AutoCAD, EPLAN, or other engineering design software for creating electrical and control system drawings.
  • Control System Programming:
  • Develop PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) programs, HMI (Human-Machine Interface) applications, and SCADA configurations to implement control strategies, process logic, and data visualization.
  • Program control algorithms, logic sequences, and interlocks to optimize system performance, ensure safety, and achieve operational objectives.
  • Test and debug control system software to verify functionality, troubleshoot issues, and validate system performance in simulated and real-world environments.
  • Instrumentation Selection and Integration:
  • Specify and select instrumentation devices, sensors, transmitters, and actuators suitable for monitoring and controlling process variables, such as temperature, pressure, flow, and level.
  • Integrate instrumentation devices with control systems and automation platforms, ensuring seamless communication and data exchange for real-time monitoring and control.
  • Conduct calibration, testing, and commissioning of instrumentation devices to ensure accuracy, reliability, and compliance with performance specifications.
  • System Integration and Networking:
  • Design and implement industrial communication networks, including Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profibus, and OPC (Open Platform Communications), to facilitate data exchange and system integration.
  • Configure network switches, routers, and gateways to establish reliable and secure communication pathways between control devices, field instruments, and supervisory systems.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to ensure compatibility, cybersecurity, and network infrastructure requirements are addressed in control system designs.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
  • Prepare technical documentation, including design specifications, wiring diagrams, control narratives, and operation manuals, to support system implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Generate reports, test procedures, and commissioning documents to document system performance, verify compliance with project requirements, and facilitate handover to operations teams.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor\'s degree in electrical engineering, automation engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience in instrumentation, control, and automation engineering, with a minimum of [insert years] years of relevant experience.
  • Strong knowledge of instrumentation principles, control systems, automation technologies, and industrial communication protocols.

Requirements
  • B.Sc. ICA Engineering or Similar.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in design of ICA works in the field of water and wastewater.
  • Proficiency in preparing calculations and technical reports.
  • Professional experience in AutoCAD and REVIT.
