Job Description

We are seeking an experienced

IBM DB2 Database Administrator (DBA)

with 5+ years of expertise in managing, maintaining, and optimizing DB2 environments on LUW (Linux, Unix, Windows) and/or z/OS platforms. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring database availability, performance tuning, high availability, disaster recovery, and supporting application development teams with database-related needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain

IBM DB2 databases

(LUW / z/OS). Perform

database administration tasks

including backup, recovery, reorgs, storage management, and security. Monitor and optimize

database performance

(SQL tuning, query optimization, index management). Manage

high availability solutions

(HADR, Q-Replication, CDC, clustering). Implement and maintain

disaster recovery

strategies for DB2 databases. Create and maintain

database objects

(tables, indexes, views, triggers, stored procedures). Work with application development teams to optimize queries and ensure database best practices. Conduct

capacity planning, database health checks, and patch management

. Ensure

database security, compliance, and audit readiness

. Provide

24x7 production support

for critical databases and resolve incidents promptly. Automate routine tasks using

shell scripts, PowerShell, or Python

. Maintain up-to-date documentation for database configurations, processes, and procedures.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

5+ years of hands-on experience

as a DB2 Database Administrator. Strong experience in

DB2 LUW and/or DB2 z/OS

administration. Proficiency in

DB2 utilities

(RUNSTATS, REORG, LOAD, EXPORT/IMPORT, BACKUP/RESTORE). Expertise in

SQL tuning, performance monitoring tools, and query optimization

. Strong knowledge of

HADR, Q-Replication, clustering, and disaster recovery planning

. Solid understanding of

database security, authentication, and authorization

. Hands-on experience with

Unix/Linux/Windows OS administration basics

. Scripting skills (Shell, Perl, Python, or PowerShell). Familiarity with

middleware and application servers

(WebSphere, WAS, etc.) is a plus. Experience with

cloud DB2 environments

(IBM Cloud, AWS RDS for Db2, Azure) preferred. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Education & Certifications:

Bachelor's degree in

Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field

. IBM Certified Database Administrator - DB2 LUW / z/OS (Preferred). ITIL certification (Nice to have).

Soft Skills:

Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and in a team. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Flexibility to support production systems on an on-call basis.

Pay: ₹100,000.00 - ₹150,000.00 per month
