Job Title: IBDP/MYP English Teacher Job Summary: The IBDP/MYP English Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction to students in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) and Middle Years Programme (MYP). This role involves designing and implementing an engaging English language and literature curriculum, assessing student progress, and fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment. Responsibilities: Curriculum Development: Develop and adapt curriculum materials in alignment with the IBDP/MYP framework and school guidelines. Create lesson plans that incorporate various teaching strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners. Select appropriate literary works and texts for analysis and discussion. Instructional Delivery: Conduct English language and literature classes, ensuring the curriculum is delivered effectively. Foster critical thinking, creativity, and communication skills in students. Provide differentiated instruction to accommodate various learning styles and abilities. Assessment and Feedback: Assess student learning through a variety of formative and summative assessments. Provide timely and constructive feedback to students to support their academic growth. Maintain accurate records of student progress and achievement. Classroom Management: Establish and maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment. Manage student behaviour and promote respectful interactions. Create a safe and supportive learning space. Professional Development: Stay informed about the latest developments in English education and IB/MYP programs. Participate in professional development opportunities and collaborate with colleagues. Reflect on teaching practices to continually improve instruction. Parent and Stakeholder Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities. Attend parent-teacher conferences and meetings as required. Commitment to IB/MYP Principles: Embrace the philosophy and principles of the International Baccalaureate Programme, including international-mindedness, inquiry-based learning, and global perspectives. Qualifications: Master\'s degree in English Teaching certification or qualification Experience teaching English language and literature at the IBDP/MYP level is highly desirable. Familiarity with the International Baccalaureate framework and principles. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to differentiate instruction and meet the diverse needs of students. Commitment to ongoing professional development. Organizational skills and the ability to manage classroom resources effectively.
