1. Role Summary
The Junior System Administrator will support daily IT operations, assist in resolving user issues, maintain IT assets, and ensure smooth functioning of servers, network, and backup systems under the guidance of the System Administrator. This role is ideal for candidates with foundational technical knowledge and a willingness to learn and improve continuously.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. IT Support & Issue Resolution
Provide first-level troubleshooting for laptops, desktops, Wi-Fi, LAN, printers, and application issues.
Respond to IT tickets within SLA timelines (target: response within 30 minutes).
Ensure timely resolution for assigned tickets and escalate when required.
B. Asset & Infrastructure Management
Update asset inventory and movement logs within 24 hours.
Assist in monitoring server, endpoint, and network uptime.
Support maintenance of IT hardware, including systems, peripherals, and network devices.
C. Server, Backup & Data Center Support
Assist with basic server operations (Windows/Linux environments).
Monitor daily backup jobs and escalate failures.
Support quarterly DR recovery tests.
D. Documentation & Compliance
Maintain accuracy of SOPs, checklists, network diagrams, and asset records.
Ensure compliance readiness by updating documents when changes occur.
E. Change & Implementation Support
Assist in rollout of new software, patches, upgrades, and IT changes.
Follow change management processes and update task status promptly.
3. Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
knowledge of Windows/Linux OS, Basic networking, and hardware troubleshooting.
Familiarity with ticketing tools
Understanding of IP addressing, LAN/WAN basics, user account management, etc.
Good communication, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
Eagerness to learn advanced system administration and security topics.
