Job Description
Summary
The Software Tool Leader owns all aspects related to the Software tools used in engineering (aka Storms), including developing and maintaining the tool infrastructure, enhancing existing applications, and creating new applications. He / she will work in collaboration with the Application Lead user to understand the needs, specify the implementation, and execute development and testing. He / she will drive additional contractors as needed. He / she is responsible of the quality, efficiency, and ease of use of the tool, as perceived by all users. He / she interfaces with the users for support and gathering feedback.Responsibilities
- Maintain overall tools infrastructure coherence and efficiency
- Gathers and understand the requirements from the internal customers
- Drives and executes tool development and new versions development, monitors and reports on progress; leverages external contractors when needed.
- Validate tool, including adequation to the need, robustness, ease of use, and efficiency.
- Drives deployment plan.
- Drives support to the tool, including all relevant means (hotline / mail support / development of a key user community / knowledge sharing tools)
- Advanced degree in software engineering
- 10 years’ experience in designing Software
- Proven competence with mySQL, PHP, Javascript / jQuery, LAMP applications.
- Excellent English
- Demonstrated experience at interfacing with users to create specifications
- Clear / simplification-oriented mindset.
