The Hydraulic Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing hydraulic systems and components used in industrial machinery, heavy equipment, and mobile hydraulic applications. The role requires strong knowledge of hydraulic principles, fluid power, and mechanical systems.
Key Responsibilities
Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of hydraulic systems, pumps, valves, hoses, cylinders, and power packs.
Conduct regular preventive maintenance on hydraulic equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Diagnose faults in hydraulic circuits and troubleshoot pressure, flow, or leakage issues.
Repair or replace defective hydraulic components.
Assemble, test, and calibrate hydraulic units and systems.
Read and interpret hydraulic schematics, circuit diagrams, and technical manuals.
Conduct pressure testing, flow testing, and system performance checks.
Maintain records of repair work, spare parts usage, and service reports.
Ensure proper handling of hydraulic oils, filters, and consumables.
Ensure tools, safety equipment, and workshop discipline are maintained.
Collaborate with mechanics, electricians, and maintenance engineers during machine breakdowns.
Follow safety procedures and industry standards during all operations.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Diploma / ITI in Mechanical, Automobile, or related field.
Strong knowledge of hydraulic pumps, cylinders, valves, hoses, seals, and fittings.
Ability to read hydraulic circuit diagrams.
Hands-on experience in troubleshooting hydraulic equipment.
Knowledge of hydraulic fluids, contamination control, and filtration systems.
Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
