Install, maintain, and repair hydraulic systems and components, such as pumps, valves, cylinders, motors, hoses, and fittings
Diagnose hydraulic faults and conduct troubleshooting and preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure smooth operations.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, hydraulic schematics, and technical manuals accurately.
Conduct routine inspections and tests on ship machinery and hydraulic equipment to verify performance and safety standards are met.
Safely use and maintain workshop tools, equipment, and measuring instruments like drill presses, hydraulic shears, benders, torches, and plasma cutters
Support fabrication and installation of steel, copper, PVC, and flange piping relevant to hydraulic systems.
Keep records and inventory of tools, spare parts, and hydraulic fluids required for ship machinery maintenance.
Qualifications
ITI, Diploma, or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a hydraulic fitter/technician
Ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and during adverse weather conditions.
