Engineering Components Design Engineer (3-5 years experience)Key Responsibilities:
Design and Development:
Work on designing mechanical or structural components for a variety of engineering applications, using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software like SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or CATIA.
Conceptualize, design, and prototype components, ensuring that they meet performance, safety, and regulatory requirements.
Evaluate and select materials, components, and systems based on project requirements.
Prototyping and Testing:
Oversee the creation of prototypes, coordinate testing, and analyze results to validate the functionality of designs.
Ensure that designs are optimized for manufacturability and cost-effectiveness, keeping an eye on material properties and assembly processes.
Collaboration:
Work closely with other engineers (mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing) to ensure integrated system designs.
Communicate and collaborate with clients or internal teams to refine and adjust designs based on feedback.
Technical Documentation:
Create and maintain detailed documentation such as specifications, drawings, and reports for designs and processes.
Update or revise design documents in response to feedback or engineering changes.
Problem Solving:
Provide technical support for manufacturing or assembly issues, offering solutions to challenges that arise in the design or production process.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify and suggest improvements to design processes, methods, or systems based on experiences and lessons learned from previous projects.
Keep up-to-date with industry standards, new materials, and technologies.
Skills & Qualifications:
Experience:
3-5 years of hands-on experience in mechanical design or engineering components, ideally in sectors like automotive, aerospace, consumer electronics, or industrial machinery.
Software Skills:
Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA, etc.) and familiarity with simulation tools (e.g., FEA analysis software).
Understanding of Manufacturing Processes:
Knowledge of materials and manufacturing methods (casting, forging, CNC machining, injection molding, etc.).
Problem-solving skills:
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges during the design and manufacturing phases.
Education:
A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
Communication:
Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to both engineering teams and non-engineering stakeholders.
