Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and meticulous Hydraulic Bending Machine Operator to join our production team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining hydraulic bending machines (press brakes) to form metal sheets and plates according to engineering specifications. This role requires a strong understanding of bending techniques, material properties, and quality control to ensure precise and efficient production.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate hydraulic bending machines (press brakes) to bend, form, and shape various metal materials such as steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and other alloys. Read and accurately interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work orders to determine bending sequences, angles, dimensions, and finished part specifications. Select and install appropriate dies and tooling for each job, ensuring proper alignment and secure setup. Calculate bend allowances, deductions, and develop flat patterns as required. Perform routine machine maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, and minor adjustments to ensure optimal performance. Monitor machine operation during the bending process, making real-time adjustments to pressure, speed, and angle to achieve desired results. Inspect finished parts for accuracy, quality, and adherence to specifications using precision measuring instruments (e.g., protractors, calipers, micrometers, height gauges). Identify and troubleshoot machine malfunctions or quality issues, reporting complex problems to maintenance or supervisors. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, strictly adhering to all safety protocols and company policies. Assist with material handling, loading, and unloading of metal sheets and formed parts. Document production activities, including completed work, material usage, and any deviations or quality issues. Collaborate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments to optimize production processes and meet deadlines.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in machine operation, metal fabrication, or a related field is highly preferred. Proven experience ( 2+ years) as a Hydraulic Bending Machine Operator or Press Brake Operator. Strong proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and bend deduction charts. Solid understanding of various metal types, their properties, and how they react to bending. Proficiency in using precision measuring tools. Basic mathematical skills for calculations related to bending. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality, precise work. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Excellent problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude. Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to safety guidelines.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand for extended periods. Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs occasionally, and heavier materials with assistance or equipment. Manual dexterity, good hand-eye coordination, and fine motor skills. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
