The HVAC Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing HVAC construction or retrofit projects from start to finish. This role ensures projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and according to specifications. The HVAC Project Manager works closely with field supervisors, engineers, subcontractors, and clients to achieve high-quality results and exceptional customer satisfaction.
Develop detailed project plans including scope, schedule, manpower, and equipment requirements.
Review HVAC drawings, specifications, and submittals to verify accuracy and compliance.
Coordinate with engineering, estimating, procurement, and field teams for smooth project execution.
Plan and sequence installation activities to meet project milestones.
Project Execution & Oversight
Lead and manage field crews, subcontractors, and vendors throughout the project lifecycle.
Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, quality, and safety compliance.
Facilitate weekly project meetings with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Solve on-site issues quickly and effectively to minimize delays.
Financial Management
Develop and manage project budgets and cost-control plans.
Track project expenses, labor hours, and material usage against budget.
Prepare, review, and negotiate change orders and subcontractor agreements.
Work with accounting to ensure accurate billing, invoicing, and financial reporting.
Client & Stakeholder Communication
Serve as the primary point of contact for customers and project partners.
Maintain excellent communication regarding project status, risks, and milestones.
Manage expectations and ensure client satisfaction throughout the project.
