The role involves detailed engineering calculations, coordination with multidisciplinary teams, and delivering high-quality BIM-based HVAC designs in compliance with international codes and standards.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare HVAC system designs including
load calculations, equipment selection, ducting, piping, and layouts
Develop
concept, schematic, detailed design, and IFC drawings
Perform
heat load calculations
using industry-standard software
Design systems such as
Chilled Water, VRF/VRV, DX, AHU, FCU, and ventilation systems
Ensure designs comply with
ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, IPC, local authority, and project-specific standards
Coordinate with
Architectural, Structural, Electrical, Fire Protection, and Plumbing teams
Prepare
BOQs, technical specifications, and design reports
Support
BIM coordination and clash detection
processes
Attend technical meetings with clients, consultants, and contractors
Review shop drawings and respond to RFIs
Maintain quality, timelines, and documentation standards
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in
Mechanical Engineering
5-8 years
of experience in HVAC design (consultancy background preferred)
Strong knowledge of
HVAC engineering principles and design standards
Experience working on
commercial, mixed-use, airports, metro, or large-scale projects
is an advantage
Technical Skills
HVAC Load Calculation using HAP Software
Revit MEP, AutoCAD
Understanding of
BIM workflows and coordination
MS Excel for engineering calculations
Familiarity with
international codes and authority approvals
Soft Skills
