Role Overview



The Group HR Recruiter will be responsible for

end-to-end recruitment and manpower sourcing

across all

Universal Group Companies

, covering

Operations, Maintenance, and Administrative roles

. The role includes

direct hiring

as well as

managing third-party manpower agencies

, ensuring timely deployment of skilled resources with full statutory and compliance adherence.

Key Responsibilities1. Recruitment & Talent Acquisition (Group Level)



Operational Hiring



Recruit manpower for: Drivers, Conductors / Bus Captains Route & Depot Operations Executives Control Room, Scheduling & Call Center Staff

Maintenance & Technical Hiring



Hire and coordinate recruitment for: Mechanics (Diesel / EV) Electricians, AC Technicians Workshop Supervisors and Helpers Breakdown support staff across routes

Administrative & Support Hiring



Recruit for: Accounts & Finance support staff HR, Admin & Compliance executives IT / MIS coordinators Front-office & documentation roles Work closely with

business heads, operations managers, and workshop heads

to understand manpower plans and timelines. Support recruitment for

new depots, workshops, route launches, and fleet expansions

.

2. Manpower Agency Management



Identify, onboard, and manage

manpower agencies / contractors

for: Drivers & workshop staff Housekeeping, security, and contract staff Negotiate commercials, service levels, and deployment timelines. Ensure agencies comply with: PF, ESI, minimum wages, and statutory norms Background verification and documentation requirements Track attendance, replacements, attrition, and billing accuracy. Periodically evaluate agency performance and recommend continuation or replacement.

3. Screening, Verification & Onboarding



Conduct preliminary screening on: Experience, skill fit, location, shift readiness Coordinate and ensure completion of: Driving license & badge verification Trade tests (drivers / technicians) Police verification & medical fitness Manage onboarding documentation: Appointment / contract letters ID proofs, bank details, statutory forms Coordinate with payroll & accounts teams for smooth onboarding.

4. Manpower Planning & Attrition Control



Maintain

ready manpower pipelines

for critical roles. Track attrition trends across group companies and roles. Plan recruitment drives during: Seasonal peaks Festival operations Expansion phases Support quick backfilling to avoid operational disruptions.

5. Compliance & HR Coordination



Ensure compliance with: Motor Transport Act Labour laws & contract labour regulations Company HR policies and SOPs Maintain accurate recruitment MIS: Open positions Joining vs requirement Agency vs direct hiring ratios

Required Skills & Competencies



Strong experience in

blue-collar and technical hiring

. Proven capability in

manpower agency & contractor management

. Good communication in

Tamil

(mandatory); English and other South Indian languages preferred. Ability to work closely with

operations and maintenance teams

. High ownership, field orientation, and problem-solving mindset.

Qualifications & Experience



Bachelor's degree in

HR / Management / Any discipline

.

3-6 years of recruitment experience

, preferably in: Transport / Logistics / Fleet operations Manufacturing / Infrastructure / EPC Prior experience managing

multiple manpower vendors

is a strong advantage.

Working Conditions



Field-intensive role with regular visits to: Depots, workshops, offices Flexible working hours aligned with operational needs. Travel across Tamil Nadu and neighboring states as required.
