Job Summary:
The Human Resources Executive (Payroll) is responsible for overseeing and managing the organization's payroll functions to ensure payroll is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. This role serves as a critical link between HR and Finance, ensuring seamless payroll operations, benefit deductions, compliance, and reporting. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of payroll systems, tax regulations, and employee benefits administration.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage the full payroll process for all employees, including hourly, salaried, full-time, part-time, and contract workers.
Ensure accurate and timely processing of bi-weekly/monthly payrolls, including bonuses, commissions, garnishments, and other special payments.
Maintain payroll records and ensure proper documentation for audits and compliance purposes.
Coordinate with HR and Finance departments to ensure employee records are up-to-date and accurate in payroll systems.
Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal payroll tax regulations and reporting requirements.
Manage the setup and administration of payroll-related employee benefits, such as retirement contributions, insurance premiums, and leave accruals.
Prepare and reconcile payroll reports, including W-2s, 1099s, and other year-end tax documents.
Work with external vendors or software providers to troubleshoot system issues and implement upgrades.
Conduct periodic audits of payroll data to ensure accuracy and integrity.
Provide training and support to HR team members and supervisors on payroll procedures and systems.
Stay updated on changes in labor laws, tax codes, and benefits regulations affecting payroll.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
3-5 years of progressive payroll experience, including at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or management role.
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification is a plus.
Skills and Competencies:
Strong knowledge of payroll principles, practices, and tax regulations.
Experience with payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Paychex, Workday, UKG, etc.).
Advanced Excel and data analysis skills.
High level of confidentiality and attention to detail.
Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
