We are looking for a Human Factors & Ergonomics Engineer with 2 years of experience to support cockpit, cabin, and system design from a human-centred, certification-aligned perspective. The role involves close collaboration with Product Design, UX, Structures, Avionics, and Certification teams to ensure safe, usable, and compliant aircraft designs.
This is a hands-on role that requires strong fundamentals in ergonomics, anthropometry, usability analysis, and documentation.
Key Responsibilities
Human Factors & Ergonomics
Support ergonomic layout development for:
Cockpit (pilot seat, controls, displays, reach & visibility)
Cabin (passenger seating, ingress/egress, restraints)
Special use cases (air ambulance, cargo, GCS, simulator)
Perform anthropometric analysis using 5th-95th percentile human models.
Evaluate reach, clearance, posture, visibility, and comfort for pilots and passengers.
Assist in defining control placement, display readability, and interaction logic.
Design & Development Support
1.Work closely with Product Design & UX teams to translate HF requirements into:
2. Support mock-up, prototype, and simulator evaluations.
3. Participate in user persona studies (pilot, passenger, paramedic, operator)
Certification & Documentation
Assist in generating Human Factors reports aligned with:
FAA / EASA / DGCA guidelines (as applicable)
eVTOL-specific certification requirements
Support compliance documentation, including:
Ergonomic justifications
Usability assessments
Assumptions and limitations
Help review supplier designs (seats, controls, interiors) from an HF standpoint.
Testing & Validation
Support usability testing, pilot evaluations, and feedback analysis.
Assist in identifying human error risks and mitigation strategies.
Document findings and propose design improvements.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in:
Human Factors Engineering
Industrial Design
Ergonomics
Aerospace / Mechanical Engineering (with HF exposure)
1-2 years of relevant experience in:
Aviation, automotive, rail, medical devices, or safety-critical systems
Basic understanding of:
Anthropometry
Ergonomic principles
Human-machine interaction
Required Skills
Understanding of human factors in safety-critical systems
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and layouts
Familiarity with CAD tools (CATIA, NX, SolidWorks, or similar - basic level is sufficient)
Good documentation and communication skills
Structured thinking and attention to detail
Good to HaveExposure to:
Cockpit or vehicle interior design
Simulation or mock-up testing
Certification environments
2. Familiarity with:FAA Human Factors guidelines
MIL-STD / SAE / ISO ergonomics standards
