About the Role:




We are seeking an

experienced and detail-oriented Accountant

to join our growing finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring financial accuracy, and maintaining compliance with internal controls and external regulations. This role is suitable for someone who values precision, works well with others in an ever-changing environment, and aims to support an expanding organisation with effective bookkeeping.




Key Responsibilities:



Manage all day-to-day bookkeeping functions including: + Accounts payable and receivable + Bank, credit card, and general ledger reconciliations
+ Payroll journals and month-end processes
Ensure accurate and timely data entry in accounting software (e.g., Dynamics and QuickBooks) Reconcile multiple accounts with complex transactions across entities and departments Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports Maintain fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules Liaise with external accountants and auditors for annual compliance Implement and maintain internal controls, documenting and refining procedures Identify and correct discrepancies or inconsistencies with a high level of accuracy Support the finance team in budgeting, forecasting, and process improvement initiatives

Required Experience & Qualifications:



5-10+ years of professional accountant experience Prior work experience in service-based or consulting industries Certificate IV or Diploma in Bookkeeping or Accounting (or higher qualifications) Proven experience working in a fast-paced, detail-driven environment Exceptional understanding of accounting principles and double-entry bookkeeping Advanced skills in Xero, QuickBooks or other major accounting software Proficiency with Excel (pivot tables, lookups, reconciliations) Experience managing multi-entity or multi-departmental accounts is highly regarded Previous exposure to payroll processing and accounting treatment Familiarity with Australian tax codes (GST/BAS/FBT/Super/kiwi)
