The HSEQ Officer is responsible for supporting the effective execution of HSEQ activities across the organization. This role assists the HSEQ Manager in maintaining quality systems, coordinating and ensuring accurate documentation and data handling. The HSEQ Officer plays a key role in the daily administration of OBP, SMS, and performance tracking tools, while also facilitating communication, system support, and procedural compliance across departments. By providing structured and timely support, the role helps ensure that HSEQ objectives are met and that the organization remains aligned with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
DUTIES
Support the HSEQ Manager in executing the quality strategy and contributing to the overall effectiveness of the Total Quality Management (TQM) system.
Liaise with business units and vessel teams to ensure alignment on quality objectives and operational consistency.
Assist in compiling reports, dashboards, and KPI summaries by gathering, validating, and formatting quality-related data.
Facilitate the communication and distribution of updated procedures, quality circulars, and compliance alerts across teams.
Contribute to drafting and reviewing user guides, standard procedures, and system documentation under HSEQ Manager guidance.
Provide user support for quality systems, including onboarding assistance and feedback tracking.
Monitor shared HSEQ communication channels, ensuring timely responses and appropriate task routing.
Participate in HSEQ team meetings, prepare summaries, and help follow up on assigned actions.
Maintain and update quality management systems, ensuring document control standards are met.
AUTHORITY
Not authorized to sign financial commitments or enter into contracts on behalf of OSM Thome or vessel owners.
Exercise authority in accordance with the Company Authority Matrix.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCES
Seagoing experience or marine background is considered a strong advantage
Preferred work experience from Shipping or Oil & Gas
Minimum of 1 years of experience in the HSE or HSSEQ field, preferably in the maritime or energy sector
The person should demonstrate experience in Business Administration and Quality management.
Strong knowledge of related HSEQ systems.
Computer skills, including Microsoft Office/Microsoft 365 .
Prior Knowledge work experience with statistics, shipping marine injury reporting guidelines
Fluent in written and spoken English.
