Oversee and monitor the implementation of health, safety, and environmental policies on behalf of the Client/Developer.
Ensure all project activities are conducted in compliance with local HSE regulations, international standards, and best practices.
Conduct site safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments; report findings to the client's project team.
Monitor and ensure that the main contractor and subcontractors implement and maintain approved HSE plans, method statements, and risk assessments.
Report unsafe conditions or violations and recommend corrective actions to contractors and Client.
Conduct and participate in site toolbox talks, safety drills, and HSE-related meetings.
Providing health and safety training courses for employees and managers
Review and evaluate HSE documentation including incident reports, training records, and PPE usage logs.
Ensure all workers on site adhere to safe working practices and are equipped with proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
Support incident and accident investigations and follow up on the implementation of corrective actions.
Coordinate with local authorities and regulatory bodies when required for inspections and compliance requirements.
Develops a safety conscious culture by providing workforce education on first aid, emergency/safety procedures and regulations.
Develop and implement housekeeping procedures across the construction site in line with HSE requirements.
Coordinate with contractors and site supervisors to assign and monitor daily housekeeping tasks (e.g., removal of debris, material organization, proper storage of tools).
Establish a routine inspection schedule for construction tools, machinery, and safety equipment.
Conduct visual checks and safety testing of hand tools, power tools, lifting equipment, and scaffolding.
Ensure all tools and equipment are tagged, certified, and in good working condition.
Maintain records of inspections, repairs, calibrations, and certifications
Keep record of the available manpower at site Subcontractor wise.
Liaise with the security team to ensure they are aware of and follow all HSE protocols
Conduct regular joint walkthroughs with the security team to identify risks related to unauthorized access, unsafe storage, or open hazardous zones.
Ensure that entry/exit gates are controlled and monitored.
Make sure that Proper ID checks and visitor logbooks are maintained.
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Engineering or a related field
Certified in
NEBOSH IGC
, IOSH, or equivalent recognized safety certifications will be an added advantage
Minimum
5 years of experience
in
construction HSE supervision
, with preference for client-side or consultancy roles
Strong knowledge of
Bahrain's safety regulations
and environmental guidelines
Excellent communication, observation, and reporting skills
Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams on-site
