We are seeking an experienced Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Officer to join our organization. The HSE Officer is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining health, safety, and environmental programs to ensure a safe and compliant working environment within the manufacturing facility. This role involves proactive measures to prevent accidents, injuries, and environmental incidents.
Responsibilities:
1.
Safety Compliance:
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations.
Develop, implement, and update safety policies and procedures.
Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify and address potential hazards.
Maintain current awareness of applicable state and local health, industrial hygiene, and safety regulations.
2.
Training and Awareness:
Coordinate and conduct safety training programs for employees.
Promote a culture of safety awareness and best practices.
Provide guidance on the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), housekeeping practices & Safe work procedures etc.
3.
Incident Investigation:
Lead investigations into accidents, near misses, and other incidents.
Analyze root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Maintain detailed records of incidents and corrective actions.
4.
Emergency Preparedness:
Develop and maintain emergency response plans.
Conduct drills and exercises to ensure readiness in case of emergencies.
Coordinate with relevant authorities for emergency response support.
5.
Environmental Compliance:
Monitor and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
Develop and implement programs to reduce the environmental impact of manufacturing processes.
Collaborate with regulatory agencies to obtain necessary permits and approvals.
6.
Risk Assessment:
Conduct risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential health and safety risks.
Implement control measures to reduce occupational hazards.
Provide recommendations for continuous improvement in safety measures.
7.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records related to health, safety, and environmental activities.
Prepare and submit reports to management and regulatory agencies as required.
Requirements:
1.
Education:
Bachelor's degree / Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
2.
Certifications:
Relevant certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST) are preferred.
NEBOSH IGC, IDip, EDip, PSM, IOSH Managing Safely, IEMA safety courses etc.
3.
Experience:
Proven experience in health, safety, and environmental roles within a manufacturing setting 2- 5 years.
Familiarity with risk assessment methodologies and incident investigation.
Previous experience with air sampling and monitoring.
Experience with medical surveillance and biological monitoring programs.
Experience with administering a hazardous communication program, including managing, and leading an emergency response team.
Previous experience with OSHA.
Hands On Experience in Fire Fighting.

Knowledge:
Understanding of applicable safety and environmental regulations.
Knowledge of industrial hygiene principles and practices.
5.
Communication Skills:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to effectively convey safety information to diverse audiences.
6.
Problem-Solving:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to develop practical solutions to address safety and environmental challenges.
