HR Specialist/Accountant

Job Summary
The HR Specialist/Accountant is responsible for a variety of administrative and Human Resources activities including assisting with tasks from initial onboarding to offboarding of employees and accounting tasks. The HR Specialist/Accountant must be prepared to work independently in the functional areas of HR and Accounting. This role will help evaluate and administer policies, programs, and procedures within HR that are aligned with the overall business strategy and provide support to the Accounting team in carrying out the responsibilities of the Finance / Accounting Department.
Primary Responsibilities
xc2xb7 Ensure company adherence to human resources practices and procedures
xc2xb7 Act as an employee resource for human resource topics, escalating concerns or grievances as needed
xc2xb7 Facilitate new hire orientation and onboarding, including working with hiring teams on onboarding schedules
xc2xb7 Ensure data integrity within HRIS for employee changes, leaves of absence, and time off use
xc2xb7 Assist with payroll processes, statutory compliances, and related employee changes
xc2xb7 Work with partners and providers to assist employees in resolving benefit related issues
xc2xb7 Complete external requests for employment verifications
xc2xb7 Assist with employee exit procedures; may include exit interviews
xc2xb7 May assist with administration and tracking of performance management, benefits enrollment, goal setting, time off balances, and training
xc2xb7 Work on special projects, team initiatives and other tasks as assigned
xc2xb7 Adherence to all essential systems and processes that are required at SDC to maintain compliance to business and regulatory requirements
xc2xb7 Support Accounts payable and Accounts receivable functions
xc2xb7 Assist with timely and accurate month-end reporting, account analysis, reconciliations and schedules, and fixed asset accounting
xc2xb7 Work with GL accounts and journal entries
xc2xb7 Multi-entity accounting functions

Required Skills
xc2xb7 Ability to maintain the highly confidential nature of human resources work, including personal information and compensation
xc2xb7 Understanding of regional/local HR and employment requirements
xc2xb7 Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
xc2xb7 Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment
xc2xb7 Ability to identify issues, present problems, and implement solutions
xc2xb7 Capability of communicating concepts clearly, concisely, and understandably to various levels of colleagues
xc2xb7 Demonstrated organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multi-task
xc2xb7 Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
xc2xb7 Proficient in MS Excel. (VLOOKUP and Pivot tables)
Education or Equivalent Experience
xc2xb7 A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, human resources, or communications and 2 years of relevant HR/Accounting experience is required.
xc2xb7 HR certification is preferred
