HR Specialist
This is not a typical HR role. We are seeking a dynamic HR Specialist who will wear two critical hats:
HR Business Partner
and
Talent Acquisition Lead
. You will be responsible for both attracting the best talent to our company and ensuring they are supported, engaged, and empowered once they join. This is a unique opportunity to build and shape the people-operations function from the ground up.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Talent Acquisition Specialist (approx. 50%):
Full-Cycle Recruiting:
You will own the entire recruitment process for all departments--from writing compelling job descriptions and sourcing top talent to conducting interviews, negotiating offers, and closing candidates.
Strategic Sourcing:
Develop and execute innovative sourcing strategies to build a strong pipeline of candidates for current and future roles, utilizing platforms like LinkedIn, talent portals, and professional networks.
Partnership:
Work closely with hiring managers to understand their team's needs, define role requirements, and build a seamless and effective hiring process.
Candidate Experience:
Act as the primary point of contact for candidates, ensuring a positive, professional, and engaging experience from the first touchpoint to their start date.
As an HR Business Partner (approx. 50%):
Employee Lifecycle Management:
You will be the go-to person for our team, managing everything from onboarding and performance management to employee relations and offboarding.
Policy & Process Development:
Help create, implement, and refine HR policies and procedures that support our remote-first culture and ensure compliance with Indian labour laws.
Culture Champion:
Drive employee engagement initiatives, gather feedback, and help us build a supportive, collaborative, and high-performing remote work environment.
HR Operations:
Manage day-to-day HR administration, address employee queries, and maintain employee records.
Who We're Looking For
This role is ideal for a versatile HR professional who is passionate about both people and process, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications:
A minimum of
2 years of full-time experience
in a hybrid HR role that includes both HR Generalist/Business Partner and Talent Acquisition responsibilities.
Demonstrated success in managing a full-cycle recruitment process across various roles and seniority levels.
A strong understanding of core HR functions, best practices, and Indian labour laws.
Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
High emotional intelligence, with the ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy and confidentiality.
Proactive, highly organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities independently in a remote setting.
Bonus Points:
Experience working in a startup, EdTech, or publishing company.
Familiarity with modern HRIS and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS).
