The Recruitment Trainee supports the recruitment team by helping with basic hiring tasks. This role is mainly focused on learning the recruitment process while assisting in activities like sourcing candidates, scheduling interviews, and maintaining data. The trainee works under the guidance of senior recruiters and is not responsible for making final decisions or offers. The goal is to build knowledge and gain hands-on experience in recruitment.
Assist in understanding job descriptions shared by seniors.
Support screening profiles under the guidance of the senior recruiter.
Observe market behavior related to active job roles and share findings with the team.
Learn to minimize backouts by observing candidate engagement practices.
Sourcing & Talent Attraction
Assist in basic sourcing through job portals and internal databases.
Learn to use sourcing tools and search techniques from senior recruiters.
Maintain and update CV databases for assigned positions.
Interviewing & Evaluation
Schedule interviews and follow up with candidates.
Watch and learn how senior recruiters conduct interviews.
Ensure timely data entry and filing of documents as per checklists.
Salary Negotiation & Offer Management
Escalate salary-related discussions and queries to senior team members.
Understand various components of salary structures and benefits.
Learn offer process flow and candidate communication standards.
Documentation & Compliance
Collect and verify candidate documentation under supervision.
Learn the basics of statutory compliance and onboarding requirements.
Ensure timely data entry and filing of documents as per checklists.
Stakeholder Collaboration
Coordinate with internal recruitment team members to support hiring efforts.
Participate in team discussions and status update meetings.
Candidate Experience & Relationship Building
Support in maintaining regular communication with candidates during the hiring cycle.
Learn best practices in candidate engagement and experience from mentors.
Client Communication & Reporting
Internal coordination only; no direct client interaction is expected initially.
Assist in preparing candidate reports or trackers for review by senior recruiters.
FUNCTIONAL SKILLS:
Basic understanding of the Oil & Gas industry and the services we provide (learning will be supported).
Willingness to learn how to ask the right questions during interviews to check candidate knowledge.
Basic knowledge of using MS Office tools like Word, Excel, and Outlook.
BEHAVIOURAL SKILLS:
Shows interest in learning new things and supports senior recruiters when the workload is high.
Follow instructions well and completes assigned tasks on time.
Is honest, keeps information private, and builds trust with the team.
Manages time properly and works in an organized way to stay productive.
Communicates clearly and respectfully in both speaking and writing to work better with others.
