We are seeking a skilled and dynamic HR Business Manager for our retail division to partner with business leaders and drive the people agenda within the retail business. This role involves developing and implementing HR strategies, providing HR support to the retail operations, managing talent acquisition, enhancing employee engagement, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a retail environment and possess a strong understanding of HR practices aligned with business goals.
Key Responsibilities:
HR Strategy & Alignment:
Work closely with senior leadership in the retail division to align HR strategies with overall business objectives and contribute to the growth and success of the retail operations.
Talent Management & Acquisition:
Lead recruitment efforts for retail positions, ensuring that the company attracts, hires, and retains top talent for store management, associates, and other retail roles. Develop staffing strategies to meet business needs.
Employee Relations:
Serve as the main point of contact for retail employees, addressing concerns, resolving conflicts, and providing guidance on HR-related matters. Ensure a positive work environment and maintain effective employee relations across multiple retail locations.
Performance Management:
Support retail leadership in managing performance, providing guidance on performance reviews, goal setting, and improvement plans. Encourage a culture of high performance and accountability.
Employee Engagement & Retention:
Develop and implement employee engagement initiatives to foster a positive and motivating work culture within retail teams. Measure engagement levels and take action to improve retention and reduce turnover.
Compliance & Policy Implementation:
Ensure compliance with labor laws, company policies, and health and safety standards across retail locations. Provide guidance on policies and procedures and ensure consistent implementation across the retail business.
Compensation & Benefits:
Oversee the administration of compensation and benefits for retail employees, ensuring competitive and fair pay structures. Provide recommendations on pay adjustments and benefits offerings as needed.
HR Metrics & Reporting:
Collect and analyze HR data, such as turnover rates, recruitment success, and employee engagement, to provide insights to leadership and make data-driven decisions that drive business success.
Change Management:
Partner with retail leaders to manage organizational changes and transitions, ensuring that HR initiatives are successfully implemented during times of change.
Key Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master's or HR certification preferred).
Proven experience (5+ years) in HR management, with at least 5+ years in a retail environment in an HR business partner or HR management role and overall 10+ years experience needed.
Deep understanding of HR practices, labor laws, and regulations in a retail setting.
Strong experience in recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and employee engagement.
Ability to work effectively with retail leadership and front-line employees to address and resolve HR issues.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and coaching skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to influence and drive change.
Experience with HR software and systems (HRIS, payroll tools, etc.).
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
