The HR Manager will serve as a strategic partner to leadership, fostering a productive, engaged, and compliant workplace culture aligned with Karban's mission for sustainability and innovation. Looking for foundational HR functions and the unique cultural, growth, and technical needs of a startup in the hardware manufacturing space.
Key Responsibilities:
Recruitment & Talent Acquisition: Lead and improve recruitment strategies to attract high-caliber candidates, including coordination of job postings, interviews, onboarding, and professional development for technical, design, and manufacturing roles.
Employee Engagement & Retention: Develop and implement programs to increase employee morale, engagement, and retention, with special focus on startup culture and rapid-growth challenges.
Training & Development: Design and oversee continuous learning initiatives, technical training, and upskilling opportunities to support employee growth.
Compensation & Benefits: Administer competitive compensation policies, analyze market trends, review internal equity, and manage benefits like health insurance.
Policy Design & Compliance: Formulate, review, and enforce company-wide HR policies and procedures to maintain legal compliance and best practices--especially important for a startup scaling in the Indian manufacturing sector.
Conflict Resolution: Mediate disputes, oversee disciplinary actions, and conduct employee investigations when needed.
HR Operations: Supervise payroll, maintain accurate employee records, schedule staff, and oversee administrative HR tasks.
Culture Building: Sustain an inclusive, engaging, performance-driven culture that reflects Karban's focus on sustainability, design, and technology.
Health & Safety: Ensure the workplace adheres to safety standards and employees have necessary resources for a safe environment.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in HR Management or related field; SHRM certification preferred.
At least 5 years of experience in HR, preferably in a startup or technology/manufacturing company.
Experience with technical hiring, administrative tasks, and HRIS systems.
Excellent interpersonal, executive communication, and organizational skills.
Proven track record of employee engagement and retention initiatives in a high-growth company.
Ability to handle sensitive issues confidentially and professionally.
Working Conditions:
Full-time position with standard working hours i.e. 9 AM - 6 PM, Monday to Saturday.
