Hands-on HR Manager reporting to the Director.
Work closely with internal teams; understand business needs and allocate HR tasks accordingly.
Lead hiring, onboarding and training for crew and shore staff; keep HR systems and crew records up to date.
Step into operational roles temporarily when staff are on leave to ensure continuity.
Strong operational knowledge of crewing and ship-shore processes to make quick, practical decisions.
Coordinate with clients and manning agents when required; act as the main point of contact.
Respond quickly to seafarer requirements -- source and place qualified seafarers for urgent needs.
Quickly understand maritime rules & regulations and implement them where required to ensure compliance and audit readiness.
Monitor and report daily/weekly/monthly on crew availability, certifications, rotations, replacements and risks to the Director.
Demonstrate strong leadership, active listening, clear communication and team coaching.
Resolve employee issues promptly and continuously improve HR processes.
