The Human Resources Executive in the hotel industry plays a crucial role in maintaining a disciplined, motivated, and service-oriented workforce that aligns with the hotel's standards of hospitality. The role involves managing end-to-end recruitment for various departments such as Front Office, Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, Kitchen, and Administration, ensuring that manpower requirements are met without compromising on service quality or grooming standards. Once hired, the HR ensures a smooth onboarding experience by completing joining formalities, registering employees in biometric systems, issuing ID cards, and conducting induction sessions to familiarize them with hotel policies, service expectations, and workplace etiquette.
Daily responsibilities include monitoring staff attendance, tracking leave and late arrivals, and coordinating payroll inputs with the accounts department while ensuring compliance with statutory requirements like PF, ESI, and professional tax. The HR also acts as a bridge between employees and management, addressing grievances professionally and promoting a respectful work culture. A key part of the role is to coordinate with department heads to identify training needs and organize sessions to enhance service quality, communication skills, grooming, and guest handling.
Maintaining accurate employee records, contracts, and legal documents is a continuous responsibility, and the HR must ensure that all operations follow labor regulations and internal SOPs. Performance tracking and involvement in appraisals, confirmations, and disciplinary actions are handled with discretion and clarity. The HR also contributes to staff engagement by organizing recognition programs, celebrations, and motivational activities to improve morale and retention. Overall, the HR in a hotel environment is not just an administrative role but a strategic function focused on building a professional, guest-focused workforce that reflects the hotel's culture and values.
