Role Overview:
The HR Manager will be responsible for managing the end-to-end HR function of the Club, with a strong focus on employee relations, union negotiations, and compliance with labor laws. The role requires a seasoned HR professional with strong interpersonal skills, hands-on experience in handling unionized workforce, and the ability to balance employee welfare with management objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Employee Relations & Union Handling
Act as the primary point of contact for union representatives, maintaining healthy industrial relations.
Lead and manage collective bargaining, grievance handling, and disciplinary processes.
Negotiate settlements, agreements, and resolve conflicts in alignment with club policies and legal framework.
Ensure proactive communication between management and staff to reduce disputes.
HR Operations & Policy Management
Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and manpower planning for all departments (F&B, sports, administration, housekeeping, facilities).
Develop and implement HR policies and procedures tailored to club operations.
Manage payroll, attendance, leave, and employee benefits.
Conduct periodic HR audits to ensure compliance and efficiency.
Compliance & Labor Law Management
Ensure adherence to all statutory compliances under labor laws, Shops & Establishments Act, Factories Act, and union agreements.
Liaise with labor authorities, legal advisors, and auditors for compliance and dispute resolution.
Maintain accurate documentation for inspections, settlements, and audits.
Performance & Training
Drive performance management systems and employee appraisal processes.
Identify training needs and organize employee development programs, especially in hospitality and member service excellence.
Build a positive work culture aligned with club values.
Management Reporting & Strategy
Provide regular reports to senior management on HR metrics, employee relations, and union matters.
Advise management on HR risks and workforce planning.
Partner with leadership for long-term HR strategy, culture-building, and organizational development.
Key Skills & Competencies:
Strong experience in union handling / industrial relations (IR).
In-depth knowledge of labor laws and compliance.
Excellent negotiation, conflict management, and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle sensitive employee matters.
Leadership abilities with a people-first yet firm approach.
HR operations expertise (recruitment, payroll, policies, training).
Familiarity with hospitality/club workforce dynamics.
Qualifications & Experience:
Graduate / Postgraduate in HR, Industrial Relations, or Business Administration.
7-10 years of HR experience with at least 3-5 years in union handling/industrial relations.
Prior experience in hospitality, premium clubs, or large service industry setups will be preferred.
Female candidates strongly preferred, as per organizational diversity requirements.
