An HR Manager acts as the vital link between a company's management and its employees. They are responsible for overseeing the entire employee lifecycle--from recruitment and onboarding to performance management and offboarding--while ensuring the organization remains compliant with labor laws.
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
Recruitment: Developing hiring strategies, writing job descriptions, and overseeing the interview process to attract top talent.
Onboarding: Designing programs to integrate new hires into the company culture and ensure they have the tools to succeed.
2. Employee Relations & Culture
Conflict Resolution: Mediating disputes between employees or between staff and management.
Engagement: Implementing initiatives (surveys, team-building, recognition programs) to boost morale and retention.
Policy Development: Creating and updating employee handbooks and workplace policies (e.g., remote work, dress code, conduct).
3. Performance & Development
Performance Reviews: Managing the appraisal system and helping managers provide constructive feedback.
Training: Identifying skill gaps and organizing professional development workshops or compliance training (e.g., DEI, safety).
4. Compensation & Benefits
Payroll Oversight: Ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time.
Benefits Admin: Managing health insurance, retirement plans, and leave policies to stay competitive in the market.
5. Compliance & Risk Management
Legal Adherence: Ensuring the company follows federal, state, and local labor laws (e.g., FLSA, FMLA, EEOC).
