Job Description

The Senior HR Generalist will be responsible for independently managing end-to-end HR operations, including statutory compliance, recruitment, performance management systems (PMS), employee lifecycle management, payroll data coordination, and vendor management. This role requires a seasoned HR professional with 10-12 years of experience who can partner with business leaders, ensure compliance, and drive efficient HR processes.


Key Responsibilities

1. Recruitment & Workforce Planning




Lead end-to-end recruitment across levels in coordination with business stakeholders. Support manpower planning and budgeting initiatives. Manage sourcing strategies, interviews, offer rollouts, and onboarding. Manage recruitment vendors and track hiring metrics and MIS.

2. Employee Lifecycle Management




Own the complete employee lifecycle: onboarding, confirmation, transfers, promotions, role changes, and exits. Ensure smooth induction and engagement of new hires. Handle separation processes including exit interviews and full & final settlements. Maintain accurate employee records in HRMS.

3. Statutory Compliance & HR Governance




Ensure end-to-end compliance with labor laws and statutory requirements (PF, ESI, PT, Gratuity, Shops & Establishment, CLRA, etc.). Liaise with statutory authorities, auditors, and consultants. Handle inspections, audits, and compliance reporting. Keep HR policies aligned with legal and organizational requirements.

4. Performance Management System (PMS)




Drive PMS cycles including goal setting, mid-year reviews, annual appraisals, and promotions. Coordinate with leadership to ensure fair and timely performance evaluations. Support performance improvement plans and documentation.

5. Payroll Data Management




Validate and manage monthly payroll inputs (attendance, leave, variable pay, deductions, reimbursements). Coordinate with payroll teams/vendors to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing. Resolve payroll-related escalations and employee queries. Ensure statutory payroll compliance and filings.

6. Vendor & Contract Management




Manage HR vendors including recruitment agencies, payroll service providers, background verification, and training partners. Negotiate commercials, monitor SLAs, and ensure service quality. Oversee contract renewals and vendor performance reviews.

7. Employee Relations & Engagement




Act as a point of contact for employee relations issues and grievance handling. Support employee engagement initiatives, communication programs, and HR interventions. Guide managers on HR policies, disciplinary processes, and best practices.

8. HR Reporting & Process Improvement




Prepare HR MIS, dashboards, and compliance reports for leadership. Drive continuous improvement in HR processes and systems. Support HR audits and internal reviews.

Key Skills & Competencies

Strong expertise in statutory compliance and labor laws. Proven experience in end-to-end recruitment and senior stakeholder management. Hands-on knowledge of PMS and payroll data coordination. Strong vendor management and negotiation skills. Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities. Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and HRMS platforms.

Education & Experience

MBA / Master's degree in Human Resources or related discipline.

10-12 years of progressive experience

in HR Generalist / HR Operations roles. * Experience working in a complex or multi-location organization preferred.
