About the Opportunity:


  • The India HR Generalist (Services) is an essential partner to our growing business. The HR Generalist supports the Services, IT and G&A organization by promoting a culture of teamwork, respect, and integrity while navigating the complexities of workplace challenges. You will be responsible for partnering with local leadership team to implement HR programs and initiatives in line with Global HR strategy (for the region). You will become a coach and mentor to leadership. You will run the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including administering benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices.

Where will you Impact:

  • Guide India Ellucian employees and leaders in alignment with Ellucian’s values through challenges including performance, conduct and conflict resolution
  • Assist with India employee onboarding process (employment agreements, Welcome Kit, Office Depot registration, mobile request process, etc.)
  • Create and facilitate new employees’ orientation
  • Support benefits enrollment and act as the first point of contact for benefits related questions, escalating to the Global Program Manager when necessary
  • Create a vacation tracking process for the location and align process with company’s HRIS
  • Assist with delivering various human resource plans and procedures, development and implementation of HR policies and procedures and ensure effective communication of new or updated policies and procedures.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate areas
  • Employee offboarding ensuring managers comply with company process and local regulations, conduct exit interviews and complete proper documentation
  • Design and develop initiatives and programs to support our people strategy and core values
  • Manage employee relations and investigations as required, representing HR at related meetings and hearings (employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigation)
  • Maintain compliance with company policies as well as local employment laws and regulations and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Keep employee profiles in an organize and logic way that facilitates easy access when required
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes in in locations in human resources and employment law in India
  • Provide coaching and direction to employees, facilitate communication, and help resolve conflicts that impact employee engagement
  • Participate in key People Team projects to drive transformational growth, including work on talent management, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, and learning and development initiatives

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Proven experience of 1 - 3 years as HR Generalist, within a dynamic service or IT environment
  • Knowledge and practical application of employment laws
  • Fluency in English
  • Strong sense of accountability and quality
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Must be flexible and comfortable with managing multiple priorities
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communicator who is used to deal with people at different levels within an international organization
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills with an emphasis on attention to detail
  • Self-starter with proven ability to work independently
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
