The HR Executive is responsible for managing end-to-end HR activities across retail stores and the head office. The role focuses on recruitment, onboarding, attendance & payroll support, employee relations, store-level compliance, and performance management. The primary goal is to ensure smooth HR operations and support the manpower needs of the fashion & apparel retail business.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
Manage recruitment for store staff (Sales Executives, Cashiers, Store Managers, Tailors/Measurements Staff, Visual Merchandisers, Warehouse staff).
Screen resumes, conduct telephonic interviews, and coordinate store-level interviews.
Ensure timely hiring during season peaks Festive Period.
Handle joining formalities, documentation, ID creation, and induction.
B. Attendance, Payroll & HR Operations
Monitor attendance, shift plans, and weekly offs across all stores.
Coordinate with store managers for timely submission of attendance, OT, and leave reports.
Support monthly payroll processing and address employee queries.
Maintain employee files, HR MIS reports, and HR dashboards.
C. Employee Relations & Engagement
Act as a point of contact for store employees regarding HR policies and concerns.
Support grievance handling, conflict resolution, and disciplinary procedures.
Organize employee engagement programs (festival celebrations, competitions, monthly recognition).
Improve employee retention and reduce attrition.
D. Training & Development
Identify training needs at store level (Customer Service, Product Knowledge, Grooming Standards).
Coordinate training sessions with internal/external trainers.
Maintain training attendance and evaluation reports.
E. Store HR Compliance
Ensure all stores follow HR policies, Code of Conduct, grooming standards.
Maintain statutory compliance documents (PF, ESI, labour law displays, registers).
Assist in audits and surprise store visits.
F. Performance Management
Track monthly/quarterly KPIs for store staff (Sales performance, customer service scores).
Assist with appraisal cycles and probation confirmations.
HR Administration
Manage HR letters (Offer, Appointment, Warning, Increment, Transfer, Relieving).
Handle exit formalities and full & final settlements.
Support manpower planning and HR budgeting.
