Role & responsibilities

Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated HPC (High Performance Computing) Systems Engineer with a strong background in supporting Microsoft HPC Pack environments. This role is ideal for candidates with at least 3 years of hands-on experience managing and optimising HPC workloads in enterprise settings. Additional experience with Azure HPC, Kubernetes, and DevOps practices is desirable and will be considered a strong plus.

Key Responsibilities:

Administer, support, and troubleshoot Microsoft HPC Pack clusters in production environments. Collaborate with engineering and research teams to optimize HPC workloads and job scheduling. Monitor system performance, conduct capacity planning, and implement improvements. Maintain and update HPC infrastructure documentation and operational procedures. Work closely with cloud engineering teams to explore and potentially integrate Kubernetes or Azure HPC solutions.

Required Qualifications:

Minimum 3 years of experience supporting Microsoft HPC Pack in enterprise or research environments. Experience with job schedulers, compute nodes, and HPC workload management. Strong understanding of Windows Server, and networking fundamentals. Familiarity with scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, etc.) for automation.

Desired Qualifications:

Experience with Azure HPC services and cloud-based HPC architecture. Exposure to Kubernetes and container orchestration in HPC or DevOps contexts. Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible). Experience in performance tuning and benchmarking HPC applications.

Soft Skills:

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities. Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
