1. Housemistress (Also an Educator)
a. Responsibilities
Provide
pastoral care
and emotional support to boarding students.
Act as a
primary guardian figure
on campus for assigned students.
Supervise daily routines - wake-up, study hours, meals, recreation and bedtime.
Maintain
discipline, safety and positive hostel culture
.
Conduct
regular student check-ins
to monitor emotional wellbeing.
Communicate regularly with parents
regarding student progress, behaviour and wellbeing.
Handle parent concerns with
empathy, clarity and professionalism
.
Teach an academic/co-curricular subject as assigned.
Maintain student records (health, behaviour, attendance).
Coordinate with Matron, School Nurse and academic staff.
Support conflict resolution among students.
Ensure safeguarding and child-protection protocols are followed.
Participate in emergency response and crisis management when required.
b. Required Qualifications
Graduate / Postgraduate
and
B.Ed.
Experience in residential school/boarding environment strongly preferred
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to build trust with parents and students
Strong leadership and counselling ability
Calm, emotionally mature personality.
2. Matron
a. Responsibilities
Manage
hostel housekeeping and hygiene standards
.
Supervise housekeeping and support staff.
Ensure cleanliness of dormitories, washrooms and common areas.
Monitor students' daily comfort and needs (clothing, bedding, laundry).
Maintain inventory of hostel supplies.
Support students during illness or discomfort.
Work closely with Housemistress and Nurse.
Interact with parents
when required regarding student welfare.
Handle concerns politely and professionally.
Ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
Maintain records of hostel operations.
Support emergency preparedness and response.
b. Required Qualifications
Minimum
Graduate
Prior experience in residential school preferred
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to interact confidently with parents
Organised and detail-oriented
Caring yet firm temperament
Physically fit to manage hostel operations.
3. Librarian
a. Responsibilities
Develop and lead a dynamic school library programme
that inspires a love for reading.
Demonstrate a
strong personal passion for reading
and children's literature.
Select, order and curate books
based on students' age, interests, reading levels and curriculum needs.
Ensure availability of
age-appropriate, diverse and inclusive reading material
.
Help students
build reading habits
and discover books suited to their interests.
Guide children across
multiple genres
- fiction, non-fiction, fantasy, biographies, mythology, science, etc.
Support students in
projects, research and inquiry-based learning
.
Teach
information literacy skills
- how to search, evaluate and use information responsibly.
Stay updated with
contemporary authors, new releases and global reading trends
.
Organise book clubs, reading challenges, storytelling sessions and author interactions.
Collaborate with teachers to integrate reading into classroom learning.
Manage digital resources, e-books and online libraries.
Maintain cataloguing, circulation and inventory records.
Create a
warm, welcoming library environment
.
Participate in pastoral care responsibilities.
b. Required Qualifications
B.Lib / M.Lib (Library Science)
from a recognised university.
Experience as a
school librarian / teacher librarian
preferred.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong knowledge of
children's literature and genres
Comfortable using
library management systems and digital resources
Patient and child-friendly approach.
